Global Student USA is an international student insurance plan which is designed for those students and scholars traveling outside their home country to pursue higher studies. The Global Student USA insurance policy meets the requirements of most of the universities, institutions, community colleges and educational programs in the US which admits foreign students. F1 and J1 visa holders studying in the United States can also purchase this global student insurance plan.
The Global Student insurance policy offers wide range of coverage including in-patient and out-patient hospital services, childbirth, pregnancy and miscarriage related complications, prescription drugs, doctor consultation and other emergency travel assistance services which may require evacuations and repatriations.
Non US citizens who are between 14 and 64 years of age and are enrolled in any full-time educational program at an international level overseas are eligible for the Global Student USA plans. This student insurance plan does not offer coverage for dependants. In addition, there are no optional coverage benefits available.
The Global Student USA insurance policies can be renewed easily. The insured can continue with the same plan and enjoy the benefits as long as the premiums are paid prior to the lapse of the policy.
Even if the insured fails to renew before the expiry date, a 31-day grace period is given during which renewal is possible. In order to gain full refund during the cancellation of this insurance plan, the individual needs to return the policy document within 10 days of purchasing the policy. After this period, the insured would not be refunded any amount.
This international student insurance plan would become effective on the date requested at the time of submitting the completed application form along with the payment for enrolling in the international student insurance policy. The plan offers very limited benefits when the insured is in the home country during the coverage period.
Coverage would end when the policy date expires, the policy is terminated as per the date requested in the enrollment form, the insured fails to meet the eligibility or the premium is not paid on time.
