Health Insurance Options For The Unhealthy

By J. D Theis

In an ideal world, you could just walk up to any company and get health insurance done and never be worried whether or not you are going to get rejected. However, we dont live in an ideal world and the reality is that not everyone who applies for health insurance is assured of getting it. Often times, people who opt for health insurance are rejected for some pretty ridiculous reasons. Due to the freedom bestowed on these companies, they have the right to reject anyone they feel like, even if it is for some absurd reason. You have no other option but to move on and approach some other company.

The problem with getting health insurance when you are not completely okay is that companies often look at you as a liability. Hence, they are little hesitant to provide coverage without first conducting a thorough analysis and determining whether you are worth the risk or not. In fact, many companies that have a lot of people as its patrons might not even look at your file and directly reject you when they get to know about any underlying symptom that you might have.

Dont be dejected if this happens to you because you are not alone. In fact, there are many people out there who want to get insured but may not have the means. If the only problem that is preventing you from getting health insurance is the fact that you have a previous condition, then you can try your luck at some other option. Instead of going to a company and opting for individual coverage, you can choose something else like HMO or PPO that can get the job done and is even light on your pocket.

There are a lot more options as well that you can still choose from. You can even make claims from the social security office and have your name enrolled on a special coverage. Since many people with existing conditions are turned away by private insurance companies, they have little else left but to go to the government if they are not financially well off.

The coverage that you get by this method may not be all that great, but it is at least better than not having any sort of coverage itself. You can stick by this policy till you can work out something better and have another option where you get better coverage and at a price that is within your reach.
